Friends buy a horse for Leona?
pa.press.net Leona Lewis's friends and family have bought her a horse for her birthday.
The former X Factor winner loves all things equestrian so was thrilled when her pals sponsored a horse in her name for her 24th birthday, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Bleeding Love singer's friends and relatives jetted to Los Angeles to surprise her on her big day and took her to a restaurant where they told her about the horse.
A friend said keen rider Leona is "besotted" with horses.
"It's a bit pricey to splash out on one of her own so they did the next best thing and donated money to sponsor one for her in LA," the friend added.
The source said London-born Leona - whose second album is due out later this year - was "overwhelmed" when they told her about her gift.

Leona paid million for private gig?
Leona Lewis was apparently paid £1 million to sing at a birthday party.
The former X Factor winner was given the hefty sum for performing at the 21st birthday of billionaire John Caudwell's daughter Libby, reports The Sun.
The 23-year-old - who sang seven tracks including her No 1 hit Bleeding Love - took time out from a month-long holiday to take to the stage at the bash in Staffordshire.
A source said: "It's a hell of a lot of money and was a great party, so it was fun being involved."
A spokesman for Leona confirmed she "did perform at a private event", but said "all details are confidential".
Phones4U founder John Caudwell is one of the richest men in Britain.

Leona bags record-breaking top spot
Leona Lewis made history when sales of her new number one single Run became the fastest-selling digital release ever.
The song, a Snow Patrol cover version which Lewis never planned to release as a single, stormed straight to the top of the Official Singles Chart.
Knocking Take That's Greatest Day off the top spot gave the former X Factor winner her third UK number one single.
Fans fell in love with the track after she performed it in Radio 1's Live Lounge in November 2007. It was the high demand for the song that led to a last-minute decision to release it as a single.
Run became available, as a download only, from midnight on November 30 and in its first two days sold 69,244 units.
The previous record for the biggest-selling digital-only number one was held by American Boy, by Estelle featuring Kanye West, which sold 51,857 units in a week.
Lewis's chart-topper exceeded this figure in just two days. Run has now sold 131,593 copies, according to Official Charts Company data.
Despite their single falling to number two, Take That also had cause to celebrate after their fifth studio album, The Circus, became one of the fastest selling albums ever. Fans snapped up 432,000 copies in its first seven days on release last week, the Official Charts Company said.
This represented the third biggest first-week sales total in history, after Oasis's 1997 album Be Here Now and Coldplay's 2005 release X&Y

I don't think anyone has studied « Result #10 on Dec 6, 2008, 5:17pm »
I DON’T think anyone has studied this phenomenon but the more CDs LEONA LEWIS sells, the sexier she becomes.
Here the songbird from Hackney, East London, looks in top form in promotional shots for new single Run.
Her SNOW PATROL cover – only released after I encouraged her bosses to give into fans’ pressure and give her a shot at her third No1 single – is flying to the top of the charts tomorrow.
By the end of Thursday it had sold 100,000 copies and was already the biggest-selling download-only single ever.
Who knows how sexy she will look once she gets a few more chart-toppers under her belt.
